Staff

Head Counselors

At Long Ridge Camp, our staff is what truly makes our camp special. We’re proud to have a team of mature, caring, and enthusiastic individuals who work together to create a positive and supportive community for our campers.

Our Directors dedicate significant time and attention to selecting the right people for every position. We maintain high expectations for our staff, conducting individual interviews, requiring at least two references, and performing comprehensive background checks.

Each group of campers benefits from a team of attentive, well-trained counselors who provide personal attention and guidance throughout the day. In addition, a number of specialists bring expertise and energy to specific activity areas, enriching every camper’s experience.

Long Ridge Camp is also a wonderful place to work. Our staff retention rate is exceptionally high, which means that each year we have only a limited number of openings—particularly at the Head Counselor and Specialist levels. This allows us to be especially selective and to build the strongest possible team.

Specialists

Our specialists bring extensive experience and knowledge to the activities they lead, helping campers develop both new skills and confidence. Group counselors support specialists during these activities, ensuring that every camper receives the encouragement and attention they need. Whether a camper is exploring a new challenge or building on an existing strength, our staff works closely with each child to make every experience positive and memorable.

At Long Ridge Camp, we are committed to providing every camper with the happiest, healthiest, and most rewarding summer possible—and it’s our outstanding staff who make that happen!

Camp Swim Staff

At Long Ridge Camp, our Swim Staff brings energy, skill, and care to every splash in the pool. Their top priority is helping campers feel safe, confident, and joyful in the water.

Each day, our swim instructors teach essential swimming skills with patience and encouragement, guiding campers as they grow more comfortable and capable. During Free Swim, our certified lifeguards provide careful supervision so everyone can enjoy the water safely.

With a blend of professionalism, enthusiasm, and genuine care, our Swim Staff helps make the pool a favorite place to learn, play, and make summer memories.

Our Long Ridge Supervisors provide the strong leadership that makes each summer so special. All are proud LRC veterans—many with decades of experience as both campers and staff, with some serving our community for over 30 years.

Administrative Staff

Our Administrative Staff is the backbone of our camp operations, working hard behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly. From managing daily transportation changes and camper attendance to coordinating group placements and ensuring medical compliance, they handle it all with care and efficiency.

Lorraine works in the camp office year-round, overseeing administrative operations, transportation logistics, and group placements.

Karyn is part-time during the Camp off-season (full-time in the summer), focusing on medical correspondence and ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols.

Alyssa is part of the summer team, managing late check-ins and early check-outs, updating camper schedules, assisting with parent communication, and helping to staff the camp phones.

You’ll get to know each of them throughout your camp experience — they’re here to help and always happy to assist!
